  • How do I clean and care for my hand painted glass or ceramic product?
I always make sure to send each and every hand painted piece with all the cleaning information included, but I'll gladly share again anytime. Cleaning instructions: Hand wash only using warm water and mild dish soap. Use a soft cloth or sponge and gently wipe the outer surface. Do not use anything abrasive to clean this product. Do not scrub too hard. Do not soak this product in water. Dry immediately with a soft towel or paper towel. Not recommended for use in the microwave, freezer, or dishwasher. Not recommended for daily use, mugs and glasses need rest sometimes too. Do not let hard alcohols come in contact with the painted surface. By following these instructions, these hand painted glass will last for many years. For flower pots, make sure to bring your plant and pot indoors in harsh weather, like rainy and snowy conditions. For soap dispensers, keep painted surface as dry as possible and keep nozzle clean from soap scum.
  • How do I clean my stained glass art?
Your stained glass art shouldn't require regular cleaning, but it can get dusty and grimy over time and can benefit from a clean and polish to bring the luster back out. Certain glass cleaning products should not be used on stained glass art as they contain high levels of ammonia which may affect the integrity of the metals used. Extremely diluted vinegar water will help, but basic water is good too! Just use a slightly dampened paper towel and wipe each individual piece of glass (front and back) and immediately dry it using a dry piece of paper towel. Repeat this process until the glass is streak free to your liking. Q-tips work great for cleaning small areas. The solder lines can be buffed using paper towel or an old microfiber cloth. With very gentle pressure, buff the lines till they shine again. Make sure not to apply too much pressure to the piece to avoid breaking delicate pieces. Unless stated "Lead Free", the solder I use contains lead. To avoid lead contamination, DO NOT reuse a microfiber cloth that has been used on my stained glass art. Strictly use that to clean this piece from now on.
  • How Do I Hang My Stained Glass Art?
I make sure to provide the suggested hardware for each piece. I typically hang up my glass art with hooks, and suggest my customers do the same. Hooks can be installed in a ceiling joist, wooden framing or a wall stud. Suction cups are not recommended to hang your stained glass art with. They can frequently fail due to the weight of the glass art. Please, do not use suction cups to hang up this art. They will fall and break. Hooks only.
  • What happens if my glass or ceramic item breaks during the shipping process?
I take great pride and care in packaging all glass and ceramic products to prevent breakage during shipping. Unfortunately, breakage can still occur. Please contact me immediately if this happens. Send me photos of the state you found your purchase in upon delivery (dented boxes, broken fragments, ect.). I will make arrangements to do whatever I can to fix this and make you happy, including return shipping and repairs made.

Black Cat Art Studio

a little about me:

I've been interested in drawing and working with art since I was young. Over the years, I discovered that my favorite mediums were paint and glass. My work is inspired by nature, anatomy, fantasy, the macabre and 90's nostalgia.  I like experimenting with color theory in my stained glass pieces when given the opportunity.

Don't cry over broken glass, make something from it.
